If Dan Kois wants us to live in a world where we all drive cheap, underpowered cars that are limited to 85 mph, he has that right. Most of the truly bad driving I see has less to do with speed than maneuvering – poor lane changes and the like. A world where even a lowly $20K car isn’t too strictly speed-limited by on-board tech.

Given its range, and the rapidly growing free Supercharger network, the Tesla Model S works well for virtually everyone who can afford one. The Google example of an expensive networked, free Level 2 charger in every employee’s slot is unrealistic, unaffordable and unnecessary in the real world. It’s also grid-friendly.

Although it looks cheap, the feel of the door handle is more premium than you might expect. Outside the LE there’s a constant reminder of base trim via some very cheap-looking plastic wheel covers. Worth reporting: Android Auto sometimes refused to connect to a phone (Google Pixel 6a). Not a big negative, but worth a mention.

The EV newcomer is largely unheard of but arrived with an affordable bang in the form of the Atto 3. It’s the first ‘affordable’ EV that’s not felt heavily compromised or compromising. Powered by Google’s Android Automotive operating system, its responsiveness is superior to just about anything else on the market today.

Ather is the only scooter which has a touchscreen display with google maps integration. Many scooter companies provide a cheap GPS tracker and call themselves a connected scooter. According to me the PURE EV models offer a fantastic value for money due to battery engineering, high range and affordable pricing.
