In March 2017, the Belgian organization WaterstofNet received approval for the €3.52-million H2-Share stands for Hydrogen Solutions for Heavy-duty transport Aimed at Reduction of Emissions in North West Europe. The goal is to test the truck at six locations in Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and France.

CMB.TECH has opened the first multimodal hydrogen refueling station in Antwerp, Belgium. In addition to the hydrogen refueling station, CMB.TECH launched a hydrogen truck with the symbolic name: Lenoir, a reference to the French-speaking Belgian who in 1860 built the first internal combustion engine powered by hydrogen.

M&S will lease a dual compartment Dearman Hubbard transport refrigeration unit (TRU), on a refrigerated semi-trailer, to be operated out of its Hemel Hempstead depot. Because the Dearman TRU is powered by expansion rather than internal combustion, it is also markedly quieter than a diesel unit.

The new Panamera plug-in hybrid models were launched on the European market in June 2017. In France, for example, the figure is 70%, in Austria it is more than 80% and in Belgium it is even more than 90%. Porsche reports that around 60% of all new Panamera models that have been delivered in Europe were equipped with a hybrid drive.
