The Nikkei reports that Suzuki Motor plans to commercialize a hydrogen powered fuel cell motorcycle, with plans to start testing it on public roads in 2016 once Japan’s transport ministry finalizes the relevant safety and environmental standards. The first Burgman scooter will be based on Suzuki’s existing 120cc model.

The London Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has begun a trial to test Suzuki Burgman hydrogen-powered scooters. The MPS is the only organization outside of Japan that Suzuki has approached to undertake such a trial. The trial is being run at no cost to the Met, with the loan of the vehicles from Suzuki Motor Corporation.

Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) and Suzuki Motor Corporation (Suzuki) have concluded a memorandum on beginning concrete examinations for business partnership. Toyota and Suzuki have agreed to start exploring ideas directed toward business partnership on 12 October 2016.

Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) will collaborate with the Malaysian national carmaker Proton Holdings Berhad. As the first step of the collaboration, SMC will supply KD (knocked down) components for a Suzuki model to Proton. In future, supply of engines and transmissions by Suzuki to Proton will be also studied.
