San Diego MTS deploys 77 propane buses; Ford F-550 and E-450 chassis with ROUSH fuel systems

The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) rolled out its new fleet of 77 buses fueled by propane autogas. The paratransit vehicles travel 40,000 miles annually and the minibuses travel 45,000 miles annually. MTS operates 95 bus routes and three Trolley lines on 53 miles of double-tracked railway. per gallon.

San Diego MTS Board approves two major CNG bus procurements with combined value of up to $343.4 million

The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System Board of Directors recently voted to approve two major bus procurements: up to 350 Gillig 40-foot low-floor CNG buses and up to 165 New Flyer 60-foot low-floor articulated CNG buses through 2017. MTS operates more than 90 bus routes and three Trolley lines on 53 miles of double-tracked railway.

True Zero fuels 1M hydrogen fuel cell vehicle miles in California

Retail hydrogen-station operator True Zero reported that it has powered more than 1,000,000 zero-emission miles by fuel-cell vehicles. The achievement of a million miles comes as a result of automakers, including Toyota, Honda, Hyundai and Mercedes-Benz expanding their fuel-cell-vehicle programs.

Updated Volkswagen 2017 e-Golf EPA-rated at 125 miles, 119 MPGe combined; pricing to come

In the US, Volkswagen’s updated 2017 e-Golf now carries an an EPA-estimated range of 125 miles—a 50% increase over the previous model year. Where the 2016 e-Golf utilized an 85 kW electric motor, the newer model features a 100 kW electric motor. The electric motor on the 2017 e-Golf has been upgraded as well.

Valeo Cruise4U car sets off on 13,000-mile partially automated drive across US
