ABB to provide charging infrastructure for ASKO electric truck fleet

ABB has entered into an agreement with Norway’s largest grocery wholesaler ASKO, and its owner NorgesGruppen, to supply charging infrastructure for its growing fleet of electric trucks. It started in Oslo in 2016 with a rebuilt truck from the Netherlands with a payload of five and a half metric tons.

Scania reports a 40% increase in sales of vehicles that run on alternative fuels and hybrids in 2016

The number of vehicles that Scania sold that run on alternative fuels and hybrids increased by 40 percent in 2016. In total, close to 5,000 such vehicles were sold in 2016. Almost 40,000 of Scania’s customers’ drivers were trained in fuel-efficient driving in 2016. This is a year-on-year increase of 30%.

BMW providing 10 pre-owned i3 EVs to UC Davis for 18 months

BMW is providing the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Davis with ten battery-electric, BMW i3 models for 18 months. Eight of the pre-owned vehicles will be available soon for UC Davis faculty and staff to rent through the campus’s UC Drive program, which is managed by the Fleet Services department.
