BloombergNEF: clean energy investment in developing nations slumps as financing in China slows; coal burn surges to record high

Across all emerging markets surveyed, 2018 investment fell to $133 billion, lower than not just the 2017 total but the 2015 figure as well. This is twice the clean energy capacity added in 2015 and three times the capacity installed in 2013. The rest of the top five included Chile, Brazil, China, and Kenya, in that order.

TUM, partners to present electric aCar prototype at IAA; transport for sub-Saharan Africa

Researchers at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and partners will present their new prototype of an electric four-wheel drive utility vehicle designed for Africa—the aCar — at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt next month. The project is supported by the Bavarian Research Foundation since 2015.

It also announced that a new partner—the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT)—has joined the effort.
