When the new rosin plant is up and running, SunPine will be producing three different products: Raw tall diesel, a feedstock used in the production of renewable diesel; rosin, a raw material used in the production of derivatives, including printing ink and adhesives; and tall oil pitch, an energy product used in the paper industry.

The analysis covered 23 markets in Europe and found a direct correlation between diesel car registrations and average CO2 emissions. With increased negative public perception towards diesels, combined with new government regulations such as WLTP and scrutiny of the fuel type, demand for diesel fell by 18% in 2018.

Neste Oil Singapore Pte Ltd and National Oxygen Pte Ltd (NOX), one of the one of the largest industrial gas manufacturers in Singapore, have signed an agreement to install a carbon dioxide recovery and liquefaction plant at Neste Oil’s renewable diesel (NExBTL) refinery in Singapore.

Neste Oil celebrated the official opening of Europe’s first pilot plant for producing microbial oil from waste and residues at its site in Porvoo, Finland. Microbial oil produced from industrial and agricultural residues such as straw represents one of the most promising future raw materials for NExBTL renewable diesel, the company said.

Neste Oil and St1 have begun working together on a fuel project as part of the TransEco development program coordinated by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. The oil industry has proposed increasing the biocomponent content of traffic fuels in Finland on a phased basis to 10% by 2015.

Neste Oil laid the foundation stone for its NExBTL renewable diesel plant in the Port of Rotterdam. Upon completion, the plant will be the largest renewable diesel plant in Europe with an annual production capacity of 800,000 metric tonnes (about 245 million gallons, or 5.8 million barrels).
