US DOE awards KiOR loan guarantee supporting a more than $1B biofuels project; drop-in fuels from wood biomass

This project is designed to complement an earlier Mississippi agreement, which requires KiOR to build three plants in Mississippi before 2015. The first plant under that agreement (and the company’s first commercial unit overall) will be located in Columbus, MS and funded by the proceeds of a $75-million loan from the State of Mississippi.

Delek sells AltAir renewable diesel/jet business to World Energy for $72M

For its first commercial project, AltAir partnered with Alon Energy USA to use its existing refinery in Paramount. The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.
