A report issued today by the National Research Council recommends that the US set a measurable domestic greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions budget in the range of 170 to 200 gigatons of CO 2 -equivalent (eq) for the period 2012 through 2050. The project was requested by Congress and is funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
