Apart from angel funding, Strom is yet to raise serious capital from investors. We still don’t have news on this.

Electric vehicles are "definitely affordable and environmentally friendly technology, and we think theres a huge potential market in China for them," Li Shufu, Geelys chairman, said in an interview Monday. GM plans to launch the Volt in China in 2011. and Korean golf cart maker CT&T Co. in late 2010.

In addition to a recent electric car deal with NISSAN Motors ( NSANY ), Portland General Electric, the Oregon state governor and GE have also announced a joint venture with Mitsubishi Motors ( MMTOF.PK ) to develop and sell the Miev electric car with 85 mile range by 2011. By 2011 look for a larger THINK Ox.

Deliveries start in 2011. You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart. Teslas new Model S will be pure EV and will get 160 miles per charge for $49,900 and for a bit more $$ you can get the 230 or 300 mile battery options. Oh, and it looks wayyyyy cooler than the Volt.
