Ford aims to use an average of 1,056 gallons of water to make each vehicle globally—consistent with its overall goal of a 30% reduction in the amount of water used per vehicle between 2009 and 2015. Ford’s water strategy complements the company’s overall Code of Human Rights, Basic Working Conditions and Corporate Responsibilities.

Ford’s Asia Pacific and Africa region encompasses markets on three continents, including Australia, China, India, Thailand and South Africa. Industry sales in the region are expected to increase from 16 million units in 2009, to an estimated 50 million units by 2020. Ford is aggressively expanding in Thailand as well.
