Europe was hit by very low temperatures in December 2009, as well as in the first three months of 2010. The Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia were hit by floods in the spring. However, two leading producers from Germany and France show below average yields that are also below the level recorded in 2009.

In 2009, motor vehicle taxes in the EU 15 amounted to €377 billion (US$505 billion) or 3.4% New to the list are Germany, that introduced such system in the summer of 2009, and Latvia.
