Land Rover presented its Range_e development model at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this week. This development model features a plug-in hybrid diesel-electric powertrain that Land Rover expects to make available in future production models, following the scheduled launch of its diesel-electric hybrid in 2013.

The Range Rover Evoque. Land Rover unveiled the new compact Range Rover Evoque at a 40 th birthday celebration of brand. The all-new coupé will join the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport line-up in the summer of 2011. It will be the smallest, lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever produced.

Land Rover , a name synonymous with fully capable off-road vehicles, is scheduled to release its first hybrid vehicle in 2011. The hybrid , based on the LRX concept shown at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show , will make its official debut on June 17th of next year with production beginning in early 2011.

The majority of the vehicles are electric, with a small number being plug-in gasoline-electric hybrids. Toyota and EDF Energy will deploy a trial of up to 20 Toyota Plug in Hybrid Vehicles (PHV).
