Land Rover presented its Range_e development model at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this week. This development model features a plug-in hybrid diesel-electric powertrain that Land Rover expects to make available in future production models, following the scheduled launch of its diesel-electric hybrid in 2013.

The Range Rover Evoque. Land Rover unveiled the new compact Range Rover Evoque at a 40 th birthday celebration of brand. The all-new coupé will join the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport line-up in the summer of 2011. It will be the smallest, lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever produced.

Miljobil Grenland AS, the Norwegian subsidiary of Tata Motors, the company that bought out Jaguar and Land Rover in 2008, has awarded a contract to supply batteries for the Indica Vista electric vehicle project to South Korea’s Energy Innovation Group (EIG).

The majority of the vehicles are electric, with a small number being plug-in gasoline-electric hybrids. Toyota and EDF Energy will deploy a trial of up to 20 Toyota Plug in Hybrid Vehicles (PHV).
