The crossover Peugeot 3008 PHEV became the first plugin hybrid to win the Monthly Best Seller trophy in France, by beating both the Zoe and its 208 EV sibling, all thanks to a record 1,410 registrations, making it an historic 1-2 win for Peugeot at home, and relegating the Renault EV to the 3rd spot for the first time in 8 years!

The battery pack is expected to be demonstrated in a ReEV concept Dodge Caliber that was shown by FEV at the 2009 SAE World Congress. In 2008, EIG opened the EIG America sales office in Santa Clara, California, and incorporated EIG America in March 2009 as a wholly owned subsidiary. for a Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (ReEV) project.

In the wake of the Chevy Volt presentation by GM, my "plug-in hybrid" google alert has filled my inbox with reports from other automakers about their PHEV projects. Daimler/Chrysler has dusted off its long ago announced Sprinter PHEV. The buzz about the Volt has generated automaker PR reactions. One big corporate "ME TOO!"
