A Honda Civic hybrid retrofitted with lead-carbon UltraBattery modules ( earlier post ) (provided by East Penn Manufacturing) has recorded more than 100,000 miles (161,000 km) of courier duty in the local area of Phoenix, AZ.

September 2009 had 25 sales days compared to 24 days for September 2008. TMS posted September sales of 14,585 hybrid vehicles, down 5.3% from September 2008. The Prius posted September sales of 10,984 units, up 1% from September 2008, but down 42% from August 2009. Camry Hybrid posted 872 units in September, down 68.7%

These figures do not include sales of the new Mercedes S400 hybrid (Mercedes-Benz does not break out its sales by powertrain type) or the new BMW ActiveHybrid X6, which began reaching BMW Centers in December. .

Monthly sales of hybrids. Retail sales were down 9% while fleet sales declined 47%. Highlander and Highlander Hybrid posted combined sales of 9,407 units, up 39.1% over July 2008. Highlander Hybrid sales were down 14.6%. The RX and RX Hybrid luxury utility vehicle posted combined July sales of 7,811 units, up 10.0%
