The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the availability of $26 million in grant funding to establish clean diesel projects aimed at reducing emissions from the US’ existing fleet of diesel engines. Region 7 (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska): EPA is requesting proposals between $300,000 and $1,500,000.

The US Department of State (DOS) has released its Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) in response to TransCanada’s May 2012 application for the Keystone XL pipeline that would run from Canada’s oils sands in Alberta to Nebraska. Since the first year of the DERA program in 2008, EPA has competitively awarded more than 790 grants and 420 rebates across the country.

When released, the Final EIS and related documents will be available through the State Department’s website: [link]. The application for a permit for the pipeline, which the State Department has to issue because it crosses an international border, was filed back at the end of 2008.
