The new technology, which builds on Ford technologies such as SYNC, SmartGauge with EcoGuide and Ford Work Solutions—allows the vehicle operator to program when to recharge the vehicle, for how long and at what utility rate. The first of the specially equipped plug-in hybrids has been delivered to American Electric Power of Columbus, Ohio.

Southern California Edison (SCE) Orders 20 Ford Transit Connect Electric Vans

SCE was the first utility to join with Ford Motor Company in a unique partnership aimed at accelerating commercialization of electrified transportation and received the first of the Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid demonstration fleet vehicles in 2007.
