Worldwatch Institute report finds global energy intensity increased in 2010 for second year in a row

Energy intensity is declining in many advanced economies, including the United States, Germany, and Japan. The most dramatic declines in industrial countries have occurred in the United States and Germany. Between 2005 and 2010, it declined 15.37%, although this fell short of the government’s goal of 20%.

The credit generally is available for vehicles purchased after 2005. The Senate bill carried no similar provision.
