ARPA-E to award up to $10M to study cold fusion (LENR)

ARPA-E acknowledges the complex, controversial history of LENR beginning with the announcement by Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons (FP) in 1989 that they had achieved deuterium-deuterium (D-D) “cold fusion” in an electrochemical cell. Multiple books recount the history of “cold fusion” (now known as LENR).

Mobileye unveils Gen4 system-on-chip EyeQ4; visual processing for ADAS and automated driving; design win for 2018

The EyeQ4 would support fusion with radars and scanning-beam lasers in the high-end customer functions. The design was done according to the ISO-26262 standard and will provide a safety level of ASIL-B(D). Series production is supported for early 2018 start of production.

Ford to apply start-stop technology to non-hybrid vehicles in North America in 2012

The system, designed to work on both gasoline and diesel engines, is standard on the ECOnetic models of the Ford Ka and Mondeo, and is launching now on Focus, C-MAX and Grand C-MAX. A similar system has been installed on more than 170,000 gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles Ford has sold since 2004.

Ford puts the pedal down on performance … but not with electric drive technology right now

Ford has been selling hybrids and, later plug-ins, since 2004. Raptor is 6 inches wider than the standard F-150 for improved stability off-road.
