When sales of the Civic Hybrid started to flag, Honda introduced the Insight Hybrid earlier this year. It has also launched flexible fuel vehicles in Brazil. It also plans to introduce the CR-Z (see article ), which has been dubbed the world’s first hybrid sports car; a hybrid version of the Fit; and both the EV-N and Skydeck concepts.

The first technology demonstrator was the compact A2H2 in 2004, which was already equipped with a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEM). The pace of volume-production development has been accelerated on the back of the insights gained on the track. Audi has been working on fuel cell concepts for more than ten years.
