Audi posted its 12 th Le Mans 24 Hour victory on Sunday in its Audi R18 e-tron diesel hybrid quattro. A permitted fuel tank capacity of 58 liters theoretically made a maximum of 1,972 liters of diesel fuel available at the stops. In absolute numbers, Porsche has clinched 16 overall victories at 63 starts.

Volkswagen AG has agreed with the US government to resolve criminal and federal environmental and other civil claims against the company relating to the diesel emissions cheating débâcle. The Supervisory Board directed the law firm Jones Day to share all findings of its independent investigation of the diesel matter with the DOJ.
