Elio Motors has taken the next step in its plan to manufacture its $6,800 3-wheel vehicles in Louisiana; the Caddo Parish Industrial Development Board (IDB) completed its purchase of the former General Motors Shreveport Assembly and Stamping Plant, allowing Elio Motors to progress in its manufacturing timeline.

Toyota and Honda didn't have much to fear from the Vue Green Line's hybrid technology, but it did benefit from regenerative braking and delivered a pretty good 23 city/29 highway miles per gallon (versus 19/25 mpg for the base Vue with 2.2-liter liter engine and automatic). The Vue's platform outlived Saturn and still lives today, though.

How does this sound: 100+ MPG in a regular vehicle? And were gratified that General Motors recognizes this study as validation of its decision to evolve to the electrification of transportation. At $3 for a gallon of gas, driving a non-hybrid car costs 8-20 cents/mile (depending on MPG). What Are Plug-In Hybrids?

Think Global was formerly known as Think City, a prior Ford Motor Company ( F ) acquisition and part of a now-defunct Think division at Ford. The Think City was short-lived in the States with production halting in 2002 after just 1005 cars had been assembled. safety requirements. The transplant car companies….aren’t aren’t there yet.
