Süd-Chemie AG will supply Evonik Industries AG with novel lithium iron phosphate materials for use in the next generation of lithium-ion batteries for automobiles and other industrial applications. The University of Texas licensed its original lithium-iron phosphate technology to Hydro-Québec, which developed it from 1997 to 2001.
