It occurred in the wake of the California electricity crisis of 2000 and 2001, when mismanaged deregulation, market manipulation, and environmental catastrophe combined to unhinge the power grid. And EV owners would become entrepreneurs, selling electricity back to the grid. AC Propulsion’s experiment was timely.

In one of those alternative realities Al Gore got elected President in 2000 and because he understood what was happening with CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions he made cutting emissions, and developing renewable and clean energy sources our country’s focus and goals. Too few people give a shit about that title. .

A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. Deliveries start in 2011. Hybrids are a proven winner, but a series-hybrid (range extended EV), such as the Volt takes things to a much higher level with existing and "mostly" affordable tech. Oh, and it looks wayyyyy cooler than the Volt.
