Chevrolet dealerships in the initial launch markets of California, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington, DC will be receiving dedicated Volt demonstration vehicles for customer test drives over the next few weeks. Chevy expects to deliver Volts in all 50 states by the end of 2011.

Chevrolet is stepping up the national rollout of the Volt, and plans to have Volts in all participating dealerships in every state by the end of this year. General Motors today announced that it is ramping up sales of its plug-in hybrid electric car, the Chevy Volt, in two new states: North Carolina and South Carolina. Like other new electric cars, the Volt is only available in a few states.

Participating Chevrolet dealers in seven key launch markets across Canada have begun taking orders for the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Volt, with an MSRP starting at C$41,545 (US$43,568). Within twelve months of the retail launch, Volt will be available at dealerships nation-wide.

The cars will share an 800-volt electric architecture that in addition to providing nearly 900 hp of power will offer 900 newton meters of torque, 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) acceleration in 3.2 The Polestar 6 hardtop convertible will also be built at the plant, likely starting in 2025. The plant is owned by Geely and operated by Polestar.

Evatran plans to have over twenty installations as part of the Apollo Trial Program. The partners will trial the second generation systems for three months and then Evatran will release the product to individual EV owners across the country.
