In 2010, 32,885 people died in motor vehicle traffic crashes in the United States—the lowest number of fatalities since 1949 (30,246 fatalities in 1949). Nationwide, 39 states, the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands and Guam ban texting behind the wheel. This was a 2.9% Blueprint for Ending Distracted Driving.

An EAA member sets the Virgin Islands example. Like nearly everyone else with an electric vehicle (EV) on Saint Thomas, Doug White, co-founder of Virgin Islands Electric Vehicle Association , drives a Nissan LEAF. I had a Mini Moke from British Motor Works. It was a great island vehicle.
