Last week I was mostly on vacation, so I didn't get a chance to really charge the car at full amperage many times. This week was back to work, so I was able to give the charge detector a more reasonable test. Also, the power given to the motor instantly reflects whatever is specified on the potbox.

I visted Synkromotive two days ago to look into becoming a Beta tester of their new motor controller. Northwest Battery here in portland highly recommended Discover EV31a-a and FullRiver group 31 batteries over the Dekas as well, but they also cost more. John Wayland uses Odyssey batteries in his EVs. I love this town. Cheers, Tim.

The Focus is supposed to get 100 miles to a charge, but Frank is very worried about where people are going to plug in their cars. Frank didn’t mention anything about the different cities like Portland and San Jose to name a couple who are building the first wave of plug in infrastructure.

Price tag: about $25,000, made from 95% recyclable materials with a top speed of 65 miles per hour and range of 110 miles per charge. Kulongoski, Oregon as the electric-car manufacturer may be eyeing the “green” city of Portland. The Renault-Nissan Alliance is building fleet charging stations in Portland and Phoenix.

Not to be outdone, on Tuesday the Norwegian electric car startup, Think, was in Portland being wooed by the state as one of 8 potential places to site their first car manufacturing facility in the United States. The big problems now is how to create a battery that can charge rapidly and infrastructure to charge them.
