Since the company already has its popular Genesis G80 powered by either a turbocharged 4-cylinder or a non-turbo V6, Genesis appears to be wanting to keep the brand loyalty the model has built while adding in a new propulsion system. The G80 EV has limited wind and road noise partly due to the low 0.26 Genesis adds an electric sedan.

Hyundai will initially offer the Sonata Plug-in Hybrid in the ZEV states—California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont—in 2015. Drivers are first alerted of a vehicle in the blind spot by warning lights in the side mirrors.
