Info from China’s MIIT revealed the U7 features over 1,300 hp (960 kW) from four electric motors. It’s also quicker than the Porsche 911 Turbo S (2.6 BYD has even shown off the U8’s “ float mode ,” which helps the vehicle navigate through water during emergencies. Last month, Yangwang introduced its first electric sedan , the U7.

Since I live in Portland, Oregon, I went to a meeting with the Oregon Electric Vehicle Association and found out about several companies that provided drop-in electric conversion kits for existing cars. I'm currently working with Craig Loughlin out at Camp914 to purchase a 1976 Porsche 914 for the conversion.

I recently sent off an e-mail to Azure Dynamics, the maker of the DMOC445 AC motor controller in the 914 kit. Thanks for the info on the SPEEDO_BUF output on the controller. I asked how I could tap into the motor encoder signals to create an RPM signal for the tachometer on the dashboard. pdf file, I didn't think it was active.
