Honda Malaysia Sdn. HMSB), a Honda automobile production and sales joint venture in Malaysia, has begun construction of a second automobile production line at the existing auto plant in Malacca, Malaysia. At the end of this year, HMSB will begin local production of hybrid vehicles using the existing production line.

Honda Motor has begun assembling and marketing the subcompact Fit Hybrid (Jass Hybrid) in Thailand. The hybrid is assembled at Honda’s plant in Ayutthaya, using core components from Japan. Honda said it has sold about 150,000 units of the Fit and Jazz hybrid worldwide so far.
