This marketing choice by Ford is either a very bad idea (brand dilution) or a genius plan to move the pony car into the modern era. GM is bringing back the Hummer brand as an EV within the GMC brand. It also toyed with the idea of presenting Prius as a sub-brand at the point it had four different models, but dropped it.

If it were a person, you might almost feel sorry for the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV, which was launched in February. The Hummer got a Super Bowl ad; the Bolt EUV got a Disney video. The Hummer EV will be the first based on the GM’s new Ultium architecture, so these two Bolts will be the last to use what GM calls its BEV2 architecture.
