Toyota and Lexus are introducing four new hybrids to the UK market this year, including the Yaris Hybrid, the Prius+ seven-seat full hybrid, the Prius Plug-in, and the full hybrid GS 450h. Of that number of hybrids, 77,000 were Toyota or Lexus cars. Of that number of hybrids, 77,000 were Toyota or Lexus cars.

In August, Toyota Motor Corporation announced that Toyota and Lexus combined had sold more than eight million hybrid cars worldwide since the launch of the Toyota Prius in 1997. Toyota has hit the millionth sale milestone for its hybrids in Europe with the delivery of an Auris hybrid to a driver in Germany.

Cumulative global sales of Toyota Motor Corporation’s (TMC’s) hybrid vehicles—including plug-in hybrids— topped the 5 million unit mark as of 31 March 2013, reaching 5.125 million units. Toyota and Lexus sell 19 hybrid models and one plug-in hybrid in 80 countries and regions around the world.
