We plugged it in five times, and despite an overall route that skewed more to long-distance highway travel than around-town errands, we managed to do 138 miles on grid electricity alone. Plug-in hybrids that never connect to the grid might as well not have a plug at all. Over five days, we put 276 miles on our test Wrangler 4xe.

The 77kWh battery pack is claimed to consume juice at an average 15.7-17.5kWh/100km Nor does MEB provide vehicle to load or vehicle to grid charging. But it’s not the fastest Born in the global fleet, as the 170kW motor allied with the 58kWh battery pack is lighter and therefore can zot from 0-100km/h in 6.6 2023 Cupra Born.

Also, besides giving you the ability to charge at night when most utility rates are lower, future vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology may allow you to sell some of your stored energy back to the utilities. The demands on the grid would require a lot of infrastructure work without some sort of "energy reservoir" in place.

A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. Notice in [link] that GM carefully avoids claiming to reduce CO2 by shifting to the grid, but leads people off the track by focusing on smog related issues. Wired Home Subscribe Sections Cars 2.0 Many others are not so careful.
