A special-purpose vehicle developer out of South Korea has introduced a new line of electric golf carts that can bring more technology and comfort to the game. Over its nearly 50-year history, it has developed vehicles for Hyundai, Samsung, and the Korea International Trade Association.

Before Tesla, they were seen as nerdy golf carts, far from usable as “real cars.” Ditto the smaller H3, priced to be the sales leader. It’s a major reboot of a controversial name that retains a following 10 years after its demise. It was far too large and expensive to sell in any kind of volume.

Vehicles will range in price from US$8,000 to $16,000 fully equipped. The c-Zone is based on a golf cart chassis and uses a 48V, 3.5 Young Gi Lee, a former executive of Hyundai Motor Corporation, founded the CT&T in 2002 with a vision of bringing zero emissions transportation options to companies and individuals.

Some of the new and updated models, such as a battery-powered version of Geelys Panda hatchback, may hit the market as early as October, and in some cases they might carry price tags low enough for farmers and other rural residents with limited financial means. Those prices are much lower than that of General Motors Corp.s
