The BYD ute will kick off with a plug-in hybrid system that pairs a 1.5-litre litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors, providing about 100km of EV range as well as the ability to travel further on petrol. It has now re-established it as an electrified sub-brand of GMC.

Audi RS models – performance flagships set to pick up plug-in hybrid tech as early as 2021. BMW XM – X5 underpinnings but with a body specific to BMW M on top, the XM pairs a V8 with electric motors for big PHEV performance. BMW M cars – they’re coming with hybrid drivetrains. Audi RS e-Tron GT.
