The California Energy Commission approved a first-in-the-nation energy efficiency standard that will reduce wasted energy by battery chargers commonly used to power cell phones, laptop computers, power tools, and other devices. Energy consumed to charge batteries is increasing in California.

To deal with this major special waste problem has to my knowledge never ever been brought to the attention of the readers of any paper around the world. Batteries are highly special toxic waste and cannot be dropped on the average dump site, so who is going to pay to get rid of this problem? We need to stop BURNING fuel in our cars.

It says the Volt is too little, too lateand too expensive to save the beleaguered automaker, and it recently chastised GM for pumping so much money into the Volt instead of developing more fuel-efficient gasoline cars. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles. Thats short-sighted. It offers 18 models that deliver 30 mpg or more.
