General Motors has released the first fuel-economy information for its new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon mid-size pickup trucks. So far, however, it includes EPA fuel-economy estimates only for models equipped with the 3.6-liter liter gasoline V-6 and six-speed automatic transmission.

While alternative powertrains still represent a small percentage of market share compared to gasoline engines, the report noted, clean diesels saw a 10% increase in 2014 sales over 2013 sales, while hybrids saw a 10% decrease, pure electrics saw a 20% increase and compressed natural gas saw a 33% decrease. The federal government on Friday revealed vehicle efficiency standards for 2027-2031 that improve the fleet fuel efficiency of new cars and trucks—slightly. After that three-year phase-in, starting in 2027, EVs will only count like a 120-mpg gasoline model, much lowering the number of low-mpg models that each EV enables.

The LH gasoline hydraulic hybrid shows an extreme reduction in NO x compared to a diesel baseline. Broadly, the test results show significant reductions in NO x , particularly against a non-hybrid diesel baseline, and fuel economy improvements of up to 18% for the vehicle and under the drive cycles tested.
