Of the 27 proposed sites, 16 are in California, five are in Oregon and six are in Washington. Those highways include Interstates 8, 10, 80, 210 and 710 and state routes 60 and 99 in California; I-84 in Oregon; and I-90 in Washington. HDR completed the study.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is adding approximately 5,000 additional gas/electric hybrids to its nationwide fleet and designating nearly 80 rental locations across the country as “hybrid branches.” The new hybrids will be available in 24 major markets across the country, including the 10 busiest airports for business travelers in the United States.

Navigating the alphabet soup can be challenging for smaller players, but Calstart, which administers the HVIP incentive program, will direct more funds to smaller fleets and double the discounts available.

In eTec’s proposed project to the US Department of Energy, eTec is partnering with Nissan North America to deploy up to 5,000 Nissan LEAF EVs and approximately 12,750 charging stations throughout five states: Arizona, California, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington. Final award amounts may vary significantly from the estimated amounts.

Four of the top 15 markets are in California: San Francisco (1), Los Angeles (2), San Diego (7) and Sacramento (8). Oregon has a Chief EV Officer to promote EV use. Sacramento as state capital has a high level of awareness and education around EVs with a concentration of early adopters and an appreciation of EV culture.

The small hybrid buses will operate with at least nine fleets in varying climates, geographies and duty cycles, and their performance will be demonstrated in chassis dynamometer and field testing. The HTUF program benefits from the participation of more than 80 fleets representing roughly one million trucks and buses.
