AC Propulsion has delivered an AC Propulsion-powered eBox to the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where it will be used to evaluate Vehicle to Grid (V2G) operation as part of a research program. With V2G, for example, a fleet of EVs plugged in to the grid could balance the variable ups and downs of power generated from the wind.

In 2011, batteries which were previously used in the MINI E test fleet were successfully implemented in a stationary project. In 2013, BMW and the University of San Diego installed a micro grid application with Battery 2nd Life MINI E batteries.

The BMW Concept ActiveE follows the all-electric MINI E as the second large-scale electric vehicle test program to be conducted in the hands of interested customers. The field tests with the MINI E as part of Project i in the US and Europe have already provided insights into the demands required of future production electric vehicles.
