Enterprise Rent-A-Car is adding approximately 5,000 additional gas/electric hybrids to its nationwide fleet and designating nearly 80 rental locations across the country as “hybrid branches.” The new hybrids will be available in 24 major markets across the country, including the 10 busiest airports for business travelers in the United States.

Azure Dynamics Corporation announced 29 new Ford Transit Connect Electric sales, including 8 units in Europe and 21 units in North America, which includes a 3-unit reorder from Johnson Controls, Inc. These sales include: Van Bortel Ford in Rochester, NY. Mission Valley Ford in San Jose, CA (2 units). Hawk Ford in Oak Lawn, IL.

CATS’ fleet and financial plans call for the replacement 1998, 1999 and 2007 year diesel buses with new diesel buses in fiscal year 2012. CNG-Hybrid Buses: Purchase CNG-Hybrid buses to replace Ford Diesel vehicles in the ART fleet. The CNG-Hybrid buses are heavy duty and larger than the current light duty Ford vehicles.

The Plug-In Partners campaign has now surpassed 6,000 fleet orders. Soft” fleet orders are a critical component of the Plug-In Partners goal of demonstrating to automakers that a market exists for flexible fuel plug-in hybrids. As fleet orders increase, city governments around the country also continue to join the coalition.
