Homendy shared some of her issues with electric vehicles during a speech in Washington to the Transportation Research Board. The NTSB official added that electric vehicles such as the Ford F-150 Lightning and Volvo XC40 Recharge are heavier than their combustion-powered counterparts.

This may be true, but the focus needs to be on getting older, gas-guzzling trucks and SUVs off the road, not providing a massive discount to the owner of a Ford F-150 Raptor to replace it with a $70,000 Rivian R1T.
