Last week, Ford introduced a new Mustang Mach-E police concept car in the United Kingdom. The initial concept is a demonstrator Mustang Mach-E Standard Range AWD (all-wheel drive). Subject to testing of this model, Ford is planning to offer Extended Range version of its RWD (rear-wheel drive) and AWD versions.

London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) is using its extended-range electric taxi as the basis for a new van. Called the VN5, it's currently available to order, with deliveries of right-hand drive vehicles for the United Kingdom scheduled to begin.

Opel and Europcar have agreed to introduce the Opel Ampera extended range electric vehicle ( earlier post ) as a rental car throughout Europe. UK-based Langford Performance Engineering has integrated a 30 kW Capstone C30 liquid fueled microturbine as a range extender into a series plug-in hybrid version of a Ford S-Max people carrier—a seven-seat crossover vehicle—in the United Kingdom. The Whisper Eco-Logic microturbine extended range electric vehicle.
