Priced at over RMB 560,000 ($77,800), Li Auto expects the luxury minivan to be a top seller in its segment, contributing to its target of 800,000 vehicles sold this year. Until recently, Li Auto’s pipeline consisted of extended-range EVs that still utilize small combustion engines. Not bad for a glorified minivan.

When asked how the brand prevented customers from switching to other brands, Zurhausen told Automotive News Europe that Volvo has “the right products at the right time.” The EX30 is rolling out in Europe, Japan, and Brazil, with new markets coming soon. Volvo is also launching its first luxury electric minivan, the EM90 , in China.

In China, Volvo is also launching its first electric minivan , the EM90. The EV minivan features a “Scandinavian living room” and up to 450 mi CLTC range. The US and China both saw EV sales fall as Volvo works to launch new models in the regions. It will be available in a single-motor extended range and twin-motor performance version. The extended-range model will feature up to 275 miles driving range. The EX30 is expected to launch in the US by this summer.
