Competition is going to force them to produce a comfortable, usable, extended range EV for that price, and I will just have to wait. Seems like a very logical evolution to the brand.

The head of Chryslers ENVI division, Lou Rhodes, told AutoblogGreen this morning that Chrysler is marketing this battery-only version of the van to commercial fleet customers who typically have shorter range requirements. The extended-range version will be focused on retail customers.

The whole operation could take less than five minutes, pretty much the same amount of time many people spend filling their gas tanks at stations today. Most charge points available today take much longer to re-energize batteries than it does to fill a gas-powered cars tank. The main benefit associated with the swapping model is speed.
