A123 Systems has entered a battery supply agreement with Fisker Automotive to supply battery systems for the Fisker Karma Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). The Karma—an extended-range electric vehicle—is scheduled to be launched in late 2010. A123’s technology will ensure the Karma delivers.

Fisker Automotive unveiled its new model, the Atlantic sedan (known earlier as project Nina), in an event in new York. Revealed as a design prototype, the Fisker Atlantic is a luxury four-door sporting sedan using the second generation EVer (Electric Vehicle with extended range) technology.

The Fisker Karma Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) ( earlier post ) will make its public driving debut during the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races on 15 August, 19 months after being unveiled as a concept car. It will be the first time a PHEV has appeared on track at the event. The Fisker Karma PHEV is an extended range electric vehicle.

VW will overtake Tesla in EV sales by 2025, analyst says – Tesla’s global EV market share is expected to slip from more than 20 percent in 2020 to about 10 percent in 2025, with VW Group’s growing from less than 10 percent to more than 15 percent, Pete Kelly, LMC managing director, said last week in an online forecast event.
