Starting this April, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) will sell an electricity management system that uses recycled nickel-metal hydride batteries from hybrid vehicles to Toyota vehicle dealers throughout Japan. The 10 kWh systems will be sold via TMC’s energy business company, Toyota Turbine and Systems Inc.,

Nissan has a memorandum of understanding with One North East, the regionaldevelopment agency, to potentially use its Sunderland plant to produceelectric vehicles, but its first cars will all come from Japan. BMW’s Oxfordplant is the sole source of the Mini so if an electric Mini goes intoproduction it will start there.
