Just a few months after the launch, Porsche is expanding its charging service for plug-in and electric vehicles ( earlier post ) by five countries and additional functions. The service searches for suitable charging stations and performs invoicing via centrally stored payment details.

Tesla’s open Supercharger program, which allows non-Tesla electric vehicles to charge at the company’s rapid-charging stations, has been expanded to several more countries in Europe. Non-Tesla vehicles can now charge at select Superchargers in Austria, Belgium, Spain, Sweden and the UK via the Tesla app.

Polestar and BYD were two of the new EV brands that arrived during the year and brands as diverse as Volkswagen and GWM confirmed their intention to start selling electric vehicles here in 2023. It’s not due to reach Australia until late 2023, but I drove it at its international media launch in Spain in early 2022.
