So, with a range requirement of only 30km, if i were to use Lead Acid batteries I would need to install a battery capacity of 60km, as those batteries do not like to get below 50% charge. no power steering or air conditioning! So the requirements for my Waiheke EV. The rest of the island is 50km/h. The island is small.

Steering rack: I have pulled out the old power steering rack, and cleaned it up. They couldn't wrap their heads around the idea I wanted a manual rack, even though I have a car with a power rack. I am considering saving money by looping the lines and just using extra muscle power for steering.
