SporTran and Proterra deploy Louisiana’s first battery-electric buses in Shreveport

SporTran, a paratransit and fixed route transit services provider, with service to Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana, has deployed the state’s first fleet of battery-electric buses in Shreveport. The five Proterra 40' Catalyst E2 buses will go into service this month, and serve Louisiana’s third-largest city.

Virginia Clean Cities requests proposals from Southeastern fleets interested in converting to propane Autogas

Fleets in the following states are welcome to submit proposals: Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi and Washington DC. This is the second phase of funding availability under the Program, which began in December 2009 and will continue through 2013.

BP Pledges $500M for Independent Research into Impact of Deepwater Horizon Spill on Marine Environment

BP said that the key questions to be addressed by this 10-year research program reflect discussions with the US government and academic scientists in Washington DC last week. A first grant to Louisiana State University will help kick start this work. Subsequent awards will be controlled by the independent advisory board.
